*Version anglaise seulement - Blueprint Dance Inc. is a multiple award winning non-profit dance company from Montreal, Canada whose purpose is to entertain and inspire others through the art of dance on an international level. Not even a year after the group was formed, Blueprint appeared in numerous music videos, danced back-up for local artists, and opened for international singers such as Ciara, 112 and Busta Rhymes. Choreographer, director and founder, Steve Bolton, and Blueprint were invited to teach workshops and/or perform in Seattle, Orlando, Los Angeles, France, Norway, Poland, Ireland and more. Four members of the group were in the top 20 of So You Think You Can Dance Canada in all 3 seasons, mainly Vincent Noiseux, Kim Gingras, Nicolas Begin and Janick Arseneau, where they placed as far as in the top 4. Steve Bolton himself, was a featured choreographer on So You Think You Can Dance in Poland. Moreover, Blueprint has gone on to win the prestigious Sounds of Blackness Award (SOBA) two years in a row, is nominated for another one this year, as well as taking home the award for the International Team of the Year 2011 with World of Dance.
A turning point for Blueprint Cru came when they were selected as the first non-American group to participate in the 5th season of Randy Jackson presents America’s Best Dance Crew on MTV. As the underdogs in the competition, the group managed to gain a large fan base in the US and across the world where they became the finalists and placed 2nd in the competition. Blueprint has made their country proud and has opened doors for dancers all over the world.
Since then, they have been featured in the country’s biggest festivities for the Canada Day celebration at the Parliament Hill, performing for the Queen as well as in Karl Wolf`s latest music video, 80`s Baby. They also performed in the Just for Laughs Gala hosted by Pamela Anderson, were featured in the movie ‘Sur le Rythme’ and will be appearing in the Michael Jackson: The Experience videogame by Ubisoft, choreographed by Steve Bolton. This game is set to be released in April where it is anticipated to be the highest selling videogame for the Kinect worldwide and features all dancers of the group. Blueprint’s upcoming plans include collaborations with their main sponsor, Reebok, as well as getting involved with charities and performing and teaching workshops worldwide. Recognized as the top professional hip hop dance troupe in Canada, a constant evolution in the group will lead to an evolution in the caliber of dance in the country and worldwide. With Blueprint’s dedication to continuous growth both as a company and as individuals, one can only imagine where their endless potential will take them next.
